The Importance of Pre-Puppy Classes 

The primary purpose of pre puppy school is socialisation at an early age with other dogs and other people and to introduce good lead control without stress. Its purpose is also to familiarise your dog with commands that will make both your lives more enjoyable. Puppy Pre-School is a must for any owner wanting a well behaved, sociable dog. These classes are designed for puppies between the ages of eight and 12 weeks, as it is much easier to teach your puppy correctly from the start rather than having to correct bad behaviour later.  When you first bring your puppy home he/she is going through a very important and critical learning period in their lives.  Habits and behaviours that you allow now will be with your puppy for the rest of their lives. If you can start your puppy off on the right track now you will have less problems later.  Each year thousands of dogs are destroyed or end up in pounds and animal shelters (and are eventually euthanased) due to behavioural problems developed later in life. Puppy Pre-School provides a safe environment for your puppy to socialise and classes are kept small so time can be spent with each puppy and their owners. 

Requirements for Puppy Preschool

Puppies must be between eight and 12 weeks of age and have had their first vaccination.  Classes are held over three weeks and run for approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. Please do not feed your puppy a meal before coming to puppy class, they will be more attentive. Please bring a towel or small blanket for your puppy to sit on, a toy that your puppy loves to play with, a flat collar and a light weight lead.

When are Classes Held ? 

Each puppy does three weeks on the first three Thursdays of each month at 7.15pm.

Cost ? 

$65 for each puppy for the full three week course.
