The Middle Distance Bicycle Club's "Peter O'Callaghan Mt Dandenong Challenge" provides
participants with a 68km ride through Melbourne's scenic Dandenong Ranges and includes three challenging
climbs excluding but descending the harder climbs on Mt Dandy.
It is held annually on the last Sunday in February.
Peter O'Callaghan
This ride is in memory of Peter O'Callaghan ( Coach )
Peter lived life to the fullest, helped any member or visitor riding with the club,
proudly wore the club jerseys at events all
over the world. He completed the Alpine Classic in
just over 7.5 hours at 61.
A Club Legend
All money raised will be donated to the
The Amy Gillett Foundation annually.
And why not! This foundation works for all cyclists riding on the roads.

The Event
The event
is open to club members and visitors.
Entry fees will be announced on the Home Page of this web site early February.
The event IS NOT A RACE OR COMPETITION.
All riders must sign the usual disclaimer and collect a map before beginning the ride and adhere to the club rules.
To avoid congestion on the roads, riders will depart in groups no larger than 10 leaving at 3 minute intervals from 7:50am.
THIS WILL STRICKLY BE ENFORCED.
We hope to have a mix of faster and slower riders in each group so they will
quickly split into smaller groups.
Light refreshments, Tea & coffee are provided as riders complete the ride.
Full Map and Directions with profile will be given to each rider at the start.
