WHAT IS THE MALTESE COMMUNITY COUNCIL?

The Maltese Community Council is a not for profit community organisation which provides social, cultural, recreational and welfare support to all members of the Victorian Maltese community.

WHAT WELFARE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED BY THE MALTESE COMMUNITY COUNCIL?

The
Social Worker offers counselling, advocacy and referral to specialised community services.
The
Community Development Officer helps to link older Maltese with appropriate services in order to reduce their isolation.
The
Frail Aged Clustering Program is both a visitation program for elderly Maltese at home or in residential care and provides an educational program to care providers on Maltese culture.
Financial Advice is available to Maltese community members.
Legal Advice is available to Pension Card Holders Only.
The
Adult Day Care Program offers socialisation, recreation and Maltese food.

WHAT OTHER SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO THE MALTESE COMMUNITY?

A MEN'S GROUP currently meets twice a week
A WOMAN'S GROUP meets once a week.
MALTESE LANGUAGE CLASSES meet once a week.
A MALTESE LITERATURE GROUP meets bi-monthly.
A MALTESE HISTORICAL GROUP meets monthly.
A LADIES AUXILIARY meets weekly.
BINGO SESSIONS are held on Friday evening.
A MALTESE LIBRARY with books, tapes, videos and newspapers is open to the community.
