Balook Ride from Balook to Mirboo North taking in the most scenic part of the Grand Ridge Road. Stay overnight at the Golf Club Motel and have dinner in the Grand Ridge Brewery (make sure you book in advance as sometimes it's closed for private functions). Bendigo A slightly challenging ride with a climb up Mt Alexander. Mostly on sealed roads apart from 3-4km of gravel on Hogans Road. Bring all food and water with you. Mt Alexander 77km Medium/Hard
Bendigo Ride through the native forests surrounding Bendigo and look out for evidence of mining on the Bendigo Bushland Trail. Mostly off-road Bendigo Bushland Trail 65km Medium/Hard
Broadford Broadford to Hurstbridge via Flowerdale, Glenburn and Kinglake. A couple of long climbs and equally long descents Broadford-to-Hurstbridge 90km Hard
Bunyip A beutiful ride through the Bunyip State Forest with some long climbs. MTB recommended. Tonimbuk and Beyond 70km Hard
Camperdown This ride starts at the train station in Camperdown and heads down Port Campbell on the Great Ocean Road where you spend the night. The next day, ride along the Great Ocean Road past Loch Ard Gorge and The Twelve Apostles before turning inland and heading back to Camperdown. Camperdown-Port-Campbell-and-Return 140km Medium-Hard

Euroa A fairly flat ride from Euroa to Wangaratta staying overnight at the Moyhu caravan park then bush camping in the Warby Range State Park. Geelong A a medium grade flat ride along the Bellarine rail trail and down to Barwon Heads Bellarine Explorer 60km Medium.
Geelong Around the bay with an overnight stay. A two day version of Bicycle Victoria's Around the Bay in a Day ride except this one starts in Geelong avoiding the boring stretch of road from Melbourne.Stay overnight in Queenscliff or Sorrento   160km Medium.

Glenburn Over, around and through the Glenburn Hills. A hilly circuit from Glenburn via Junction Hill, Yea and the Cheviot Tunnel Glenburn Hills 95km Hard
Halls Gap A hard ride mainly on dirt roads taking in Wonderland Range rock formations, remote Mt Rosea Creek valley, waterfalls, wildflowers, Mt Stapylton/Hollow Mountain gorges and caves. Bush camping Northern Grampians MTB 110km Hard

Hurstbridge Masons Falls. A club favourite from Hurstbridge to Kinglake National Park returning the same way. The short walk to Masons Falls is worth the effort. Masons Falls 75km Hard
Kerang Catch the train to Kerang on Friday night. The next day, ride through the Gunbower Forest along the Murray. Bush camping on Saturday night and out to Echuca for the train home on Sunday Roaming anongst Redgums 120km Easy/medium

Kyneton A pleasant, mostly downhill ride through farmland and forest. There is a very rough section of unsealed road between Ballan and Bacchus Marsh. Kyneton to Bacchus Marsh 75km Medium
Leongatha Leongatha to Foster via the Great Southern rail trail. Overnight in Foster and return to Leongatha via Dollar and Dumbalk. Great Southern Rail Trail 90km Medium.

Macedon The Classic Clarkefield Pub ride. Get the train to Macedon and ride to Clarkefield stopping at the historic Clarkefield Pub for lunch. Make sure you book a table. Malmsbury An easy ride from Malmsbury to Ballarat staying overnight at the YHA in Hepburn Springs or camp just outside Daylesford. It's almost worth doing this ride just so you can stop off at the Malmsbury Bakery. Spa Country Tour 85km Easy

Pakenham This ride starts at Pakenham train station and takes quiet roads up through the Toomuc Valley to Gembrook, returning to Pakenham via a different route. At least half of the ride is on unsealed roads of varying quality from very good to badly corrugated. It is quite hilly too. So, although it doesn't cover a lot of distance, it is rated as a medium difficulty ride. Toomuc Valley 48km Medium
Pakenham A very pretty ride, mainly through forest and a bit of climbing between Pakenham and Gembrook Pakenham to Belgrave 70km Medium

Seymour Long ride that could be split over 2 days staying overnight at Gisborne. Seymour to Werribee 170km Hard.

Traralgon An easy to medium 2-day ride. It takes in the Boolarra-Mirboo North Rail Trail. Stay at the Golf Club Motel in Mirboo North and have dinner in the Grand Ridge Brewery (sample their beers while you're there. Traralgon Warragul via Mirboo North 104km Medium.

Wangaratta An easy ride on the first day down the King Valley. Harder the second day with a big hill to start with Wangaratta to Benalla with a night in Whitfield 115km Medium.

Wangaratta Glenn's traditional Australia Day weekend. Ride from Wangaratta to Beechworth via the rail trail (although Glenn normally goes via Milawa). Return via Woolshed Falls and Eldorado Beechworth and Eldorado 90km Medium.

Warburton A tough ride with some long climbs. Mainly sealed with about 8km of dirt going over Acheron Gap
This can be made into a weekend ride by staying overnight in Marysville.

Warragul a very scenic ride with rainforest, a waterfall & fantastic views. There is also a wonderful downhill into Yarragon. The route crosses the Strzelecki Range twice and there is about 30km of gravel road, which can be somewhat rough. Moonlight Creek 80km Hard
Warragul Can easily start at Yarragon instead of Warragul and cut 18km off the ride. Warragul to Yarragon then a loop over the Strzleckis 73km Medium
Warragul Quite a challenging one day ride with some long climbs. The section along the Noojee road to Yarra Junction is gorgeous, passing through rich myrtle beech rainforest. Warragul to Lilydale 100km Hard
Winchelsea Bush camp on Lake Elizabeth/ Explore some of the mountain bike trails around there if you have time. Lake Elizabeth 110km Medium.
