Supported by Maribyrnong City Council

Maribyrnong Bicycle Users Group is a volunteer bicycle organisation run by residents of the Maribyrnong/Footscray areaCampaigns and advocacy

We've successfully worked with Maribyrnong City Council, VicRoads and Bicycle Victoria to target trouble spots along our local roads and paths. Recent successes include on road bike lanes on Parker Street and a 'Keep Clear' on Whitehall!

Social Rides and events

We've held many different social rides and events including woodfired pizza in the Braybrook community gardens, BBQ feast along the Maribyrnong river, coffee and cake in Footscray, a 3 day Easter ride to Heyfield, Warburton rail trail overnight ride, and numerous rides that have explored our creeks, rivers and bays.

Education & training

We've held two bike maintenance workshops, and a group riding skills session along the Maribyrnong River. New riders have benefited greatly from the knowledge of our more experienced BUG riders.

New Friends and networks

Friendships continue to grow, and romance has even blossomed between some BUG members! MazzaBUG continues to liaise with other BUG's and cycling groups and we've assisted with the establishment and promotion of our two neighbouring BUG's in Moonee Valley and Brimbank.
