Current News and Events

Recently attended a CAMPBELL family reunion. Many descendants of William Montgomery CAMPBELL and Mary Elizabeth McKEAN were there, but unfortunately, Martha, the last surviving of William & Mary's 13 children was not well enough to attend. Have an upcoming 60th. Wedding anniversary celebration for my Uncle Frank MARR and his wife Marcie which I am looking forward to with, as a result of the CAMPBELL reunion, great anticipation.

Lorelle & Tim have a little daughter - Chloe Michelle WATTS - born 8.29 a.m. on Thursday 3 July 2003. Chloe greeted the world weighing 2.35kg (about 5lb. 2 oz.) with a length of 45cm. (nearly 18 inches) and head circumference of 32.5cm. (just under 13 inches). In every way, a little sister for Ben.

Ben, aged about 9-and-a-half months commenced walking.  By now he is fair motoring around the Watts household - so a whole new set of items have to be placed out of harms way.

Went on a 2 week fishing trip last October 2000, with five friends, to Exmouth on the NW Cape in Western Australia.

HAPPY NEWS. We are grandparents for the first time. Lorelle and Tim had a baby BOY, named Benjamin Andy Watts, at 3.00 p.m. on Tuesday, 17 October 2000. Mum and baby both doing well. Little Ben (he will only be called Benjamin when he is naughty, according to mum) weighed in at 6lb. 2oz. (2.790kg.). He was nearly 19 inches (48cm.) long and his head was a tick over 13 inches (33.5cm.).

In light of the above addition to the tree, I have added Tim's family to the database. Many thanks to Janet Floyd for the GEDCOM of that side of the now expanded tree.

SAD NEWS: Hugh Aitken (Robbie's father) passed away in the early hours of Saturday, August 5th 2000. He never fully recovered from hip surgery. He died peacefully at the Mt. Eliza Rehabilitation Centre. Robbie & I managed to get there a few hours before but he was non-responsive. However, it gave Robbie some sense of well-being to be able to spend a few hours with him near the end. His son Bruce was with him when he died.

Robbie has carried the Olympic Flame in the great Olympic Torch Relay leading up to the Sydney 2000 Olympics. Although somewhat apprehensive at first, she had a ball, in spite of extremely ordinary weather on the day. We kept the torch, of course, and I nearly burnt the house down relighting it later (don't tell the authorities, please).
