12 December 2010 34 Mantas swimmers took part in the Annual Christmas Duck at Victoria University pool. Swimmers chose their stroke to compete in over a 50m SC knockout handicap event. After a series of closely fought heats and semi-finals, the final six were Charlee Liddell (backstroke), Mary-Anne Camenzuli (freestyle), Khoa Le (freestyle), Keziah Hillas (freestyle), Emily Camenzuli (freestyle) and Chelsea Rodger (backstroke).
In a very tight finish, Khoa (last off the blocks) won by a body length followed by Emily by a hand in front of Charlee followed half a body length later by Mary-Anne by a finger in front of Keziah and then Chelsea whose backstroke hand was in the air over the pool edge before Mary-Anne and and Keziah touched, but in a split second, had them both touch before her hand came down to the tiles! All six finished in a little over two second window - where are the touch pads when you need them!
The Christmas Duck was folowed with a photo shoot involving 40 members, and then around 100 swimmers and their families adjourned to Canning St Tea Gardens for the Christmas BBQ - a successful day despite a shower or two.
