Joseph Carter and wife Ann Turner and children Thomas, Henry, Mary, Ann, Jane Turner, Elizabeth,George Turner and Fanny arrived in Victoria from Sussex in 1853. After their father died in 1853 one son worked in a local flour mill and the family ran a store in Malmsbury for a few years before moving on. Mary married Stanislaus Davy, Jane married William Davis and Elizabeth married Samuel Sims. A distant cousin in England wishes to make contact with living descendents [UPDATE - A Contact has been found]
Menere and Veach families. Henri Menere was the first head teacher at the Drummond North School. His sister Elizabeth Mary married George Henry Veach and they resided in Malmsbury. Can you help? [UPDATE - A contact has been found]
Corby/Eason/Dash/Howard families. Mary Eason married in Lincolnshire in 1852 to John Corby and they quickly immigrated to Victoria. In 1856 Mary is having children with a John Dash in the Taradale/Malmsbury area but he then appears to change his name to John Howard. Is John Corby/Dash/Howard all the same man? No deaths have been found for John Corby or John Dash.
O'Brien and Ryan families. John O'Brien married Bridget Gray in Melbourne in 1859. They had six children in Malmsbury (births of the first two not registered, one infant died). John died and Bridget remarried to Patrick Ryan in 1870 and had 2 more children, the youngest of which died. Patrick died in 1899. Fate of Bridget unknown.
