Introduction

The Malaysian Association of Victoria Incorporated (MAV) was convened in early 1995. It was officially incorporated in early 1996. MAV has ran several successful events that have earned the organisation’s image as a differentiated, progressive and innovative community based organisation. Today, MAV is known to many Australian and Malaysian corporates , as well as the Malaysian Government.

MAV Strategic Alliances

One of MAV’s strategies is to leverage both local and bilateral opportunities through selective networking with corporates, government and other associations, both locally and offshore.

Corporate Networks

Corporates can use MAV events, projects and communication services as means to access or test new markets, exercise their public relation strategies, promote their products/services and marketing presence, collect market research information, etc.

MAV past and present corporate sponsors and networking associations are from both Australian and Malaysian organisations in the financial, property, legal, management consulting, technology vendors, airlines, tourism, construction, education, food and entertainment, retail and government sectors.

Government Networks

MAV achievements and effort to date are acknowledged by the Malaysian High Commission and other government ministries such as trade, health, etc.

MAV consults the Victorian Malaysian Consul to keep abreast of the latest local and bilateral news and priorities and runs a regular Consul Communiqué column in its newsletters.

Community Association Networks

MAV also establishes links with other community associations to leverage economies of scale and critical mass advantage through the sharing of events, information , people resources and networking contacts.

Today, MAV’s association networks have included the Singapore Merlion Club, the Chinese Association of Victoria, the Indonesian Association of Victoria. The list is growing.
