Macedonia Focus Media
Pavlinka and Aleksandar Georgiev have had extensive involvement with the Macedonian Community through their work for the Department of Education, various Government Services and private agencies. In 1989 their business Pashkin's Desktop Publishing began preparing brochures, manuals, health and safety information, posters, books and newsletters for Community groups and businesses.
As the scope of their work enlarged they established the company Macedonia Focus Media in 1991. Over a period of two and a half years it was publishing the newspaper Australian Macedonian Weekly. At present the company is providing interpreting, translation, audio recording and video voiceover into/from Macedonian and typesetting in foreign languages (European, Asian and Pacific).
When Vicnet suggested to them to prepare the Pages of the Macedonian Community in Victoria, they were delighted. They contacted the organizations, groups and clubs and familiarized them with the Project. The response was enthusiastic and inspirational.
Pavlinka and Aleksandar Georgiev translated and formatted some of the texts and transformed them into HTML documents. Ogi Georgiev processed and checked a fair amount of the texts. Vela Georgiev's dexterity and computer knowledge helped solve some difficulties in the production of the Pages.
We strive to create value within our Community and within the Australian Community. The multilingual services in business and community relations are part of the ever changing local and international demographics. Such services have become a necessity in the Pacific and Asia, America and Europe. They assure effective communication with the patient, the customer and the client. Presentation in other languages makes the difference in how effectively a service is delivered or the audiance is informed and convinced.
