Bitola Social Club

Bitola Social Club was formed as a result of a picnic organised by a group of men to celebrate Liberation Day on the 4th of November. The group decided to hold the picnic at the Kinglake Monastery on 30 October 1977. They advertised the event on the radio and were amazed at the great number of people who joined them.

Members of the first committee: Tanas Petrovski, President, Ice Separdovski, Pero Kostovski, Sotir Ivanovski, Bogoljub Veljanovski, Dime Petrovski, Dimce Markovski, later on Bosko Cvetkovski became a President and then Orde Cvetkovski. The Annual General Meeting is usually held in July when all positions become vacant.

The Constitution of Bitola Social Club was drawn up in December 1977. It was incorporated as a Club in October 1978.

Over the years Bitola Social Club has organized dinner dances, picnics and annual balls. The first ball was held in March 1978 at the San Remo ballroom where the first Miss Bitola was chosen. The proceeds from these events have been used to help individuals, organizations and churches and to fund various events.

The success of the club has seen the purchase of a block of land at Pyalong in 1987; our own radio program on 3INR FM 96.5 which is heard on Monday nights and which started in 1992. Special fundraising effort enabled us to purchase a cardiomonitor which we donated to the Bitola Hospital.
