The CFA provide Brigades with a Station, a Truck with the Basic equipment i.e. branches, hoses, couplings, first aid kit etc. and fire-fighting clothing i.e. overalls, boots, helmets, over-pants and turn-out coats. All other equipment is purchased by the brigade through Fund-raising and Donations e.g. Mazda Bravo, B.A. (Breathing Apparatus), Quick fill pump, Positive Pressure Fan, Station extensions etc.

The Brigades 3000lt, 2 wheel drive (3.2) Hino Tanker, carries standard hand tools, Breathing Apparatus (see below), A class & B class foam with specialist branches, first aid box, fire blankets, Positive pressure fan (see below)

Our Ford Ranger which was purpose built with fire pump, water tank and other attributes which we find greatly useful in our current fire climate. For the first time we are able to use our support as a quick fill if needed.

Breathing Apparatus is used predominantly for structure fires allowing fire-fighters to enter smoke filled buildings to conduct an initial search & rescue and to get to the seat of the fire

The Positive Pressure Fan is used to clear a smoke filled building allowing fire-fighters with B.A. more visibility for search and rescue and fire location. It works by pressurising the building with air through a door and releasing it through a window or another door (preferably smaller than the inlet door).

This Quick Fill pump has just superseded our old pump and is a valuable part of the Brigade. It usually sits on a water source e.g. river, dam and fills the fire trucks as they run out of water. This saves the crews valuable time by them not having to self fill each time they return empty.
