As part of the "100 hours of Astronomy" worldwide network of events, LVAS is running a public viewing night on Friday 3rd April 2009 at the Wirilda Education Centre

7:45	A quick introduction to telescopes and how to drive them	Presentation - Who Invented the astronomical telescope ?
8 ish	Skytour - Find your way around the constellations General observing through the telescopes	Presentation - Beginning Astronomy Finding your way around the sky What sort of telescope should I buy ? How do I use it once I have bought it ?
11:30	Nominal close

Notes: If it is clear, we want to keep our eyes dark adjusted to see the sky. Please try to keep white light to a minimum.

If you want to bring a torch, bring a red LED one, or a small ordinary torch and cover it with red cellophane
(There will be a half moon all evening, so you may not need a torch at all)
Turn off interior lights in your car
If you can do so safely, use only parking lights in the car park - especially don't use high beam
Please, NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY after 8:30 pm
