The
Society aims to provide a variety of events across the
year in order to provide interest to our members, guests
and the local community. These events are run with the
objectives of promoting the history of the Little River
area to the public, fostering community spirit, publicising
the activities and interests of the Society and generating
fundraising to support the ongoing operation of the
Society.
In
addition to our regular monthly meeting, events conducted
and planned to date include historical displays, special
guest speakers, guided tours and social events. For

Melbourne Cup Dinner Dance

The event that just gets bigger and better each year,
the Melbourne Cup Dinner Dance, returns to shake the
foundations of the historic Little River Mechanics'
Institute Hall.
As
our major fundraising event for the year, the Society
will be holding a dinner dance with a Melbourne Cup
theme. The evening will feature a spit-roast dinner,
entertainment and lots of novelty competitions, including
the running of the Little River Cup. Drinks will be
available at bar prices. Be quick - only 100 tickets
are available.
