"Reflections" photography project |
|
Under the guidance of local photographer, Dan Armstrong, over one hundred community members from Boort, Durham Ox, Pyramid Hill and the surrounding regions recorded more than 3,000 images, using predominantly disposable cameras.
These images represent a collective record of the communities involved during the six-month period of the project and will be preserved as a permanent archive. Each individual involved in the project has chosen some aspect of their life, community, environment or history that is important and of interest to them. As a collection of images they tell a story and reveal much of both the individuals involved and their communities as a whole. exhibitions The Reflections photographic display has been segmented into the relevant Local Government areas and distributed to libraries and resource centres in the region. An official handover of the Boort/Pyramid Hill component will be held at the Boort Resource and Information Centre on 21 May 2001 by Drew English, Chair of the North Central Catchment Management Authority. |
