Facilitating Change aims to stimulate changes to improve farm business enterprise productivity, profitability, long term sustainability and water use efficiency within the Loddon Murray Region.
The successful replacement of the Torrumbarry Weir in 1997 provides the opportunity to accelerate the redevelopment and economic growth of the irrigation area serviced by the Weir. Loddon Murray 2000 plus has developed an innovative program to assist in the better management of the region's land and water resources. the program encourages farmers to... profitability projects... a subsidy to prepare a comprehensive businessplan. - Development and Redevelopment Development and Redevelopment grants have now been exhausted. - Interest rate subsidy measures to help amalgamate properties creating more economically viable farm enterprises. Remaining funds for this assistance will be absorbed by applications that have already been submitted. training for growers seeking to improve their management and technical skills. a retraining and resettlement grant to assist and better prepare farmers choosing to leave farming.
