Email received re Stolen Capri
Hi Ian,
I'm just contacting you regarding my stolen 1971 Mark 1 Ford Capri which was sadly taken on the night of April 22 from Geelong, Victoria. Been a rare type it is more than likely it is far away from Geelong by now, and a good chance it could be interstate so I'd really appreciate it, if possible, if you could maybe bring some awareness of it to your club members over the border just in case it popped up, you never know your luck I guess. It's a:
1971 Mark 1 Ford Capri (RS 3100 Replica) Vic Rego number TYC 071 2 Litre V4 GT Engine Cornfield Yellow with mat black side stripes and boot
Distinct Features include:
1. Not original Mazda MX5 front seats. 2. RS3100 Centre Console 3. 2 Small front fog lights fitted within front of car (not original) 4. V4 2000GT Engine with badges, hard to find both engine and badges. 5. 2 chrome badges found on each side of the front quarter panels. The first was a small round one (about the size of e 20cent coin) which read XLR. The second was a rectangular one, which sat below the round one, approximately 1.5cm high X 5cm long, which read 2000 V4. 6. A slight chip out of the front bottom spoiler, which was flat black in colour. This chip was just right of the centre of the spoiler. 7. The original flat black was quite faded and needing a re-paint. 8. RS3100 Tail lights (larger than standard Capri's)
The case is being handled by Senior Constable Matthew Sims at Geelong Police who's number is (03)52253100 or crime stoppers on 1800 333 00 and my mobile number is 0438 014 044 if anything came up. I would really appreciate anything, even though I know I'm looking for a needle in a hay stack. If you could place a post on your website or even email all your members that would be awesome. I've just been trying anything to hopefully get a clue on where it might have ended up. I have attached some pictures of the Capri to this email if you wanted to post a photo or something. Hopefully luck falls my way. Thanks a lot, Ryan.
