The Club

The Capri Club of Queensland Inc was formed in 1995 to cater for growing demand by Queensland enthusiasts for a club to preserve and enjoy these vehicles. The primary aim of the club is to provide club owners with a source of information with regard to the care and maintenance, as well as fellowship through interesting social gatherings, organised events and monthly club meetings.

The People and Their Cars

The Club has grown steadily since inception and boasts a soild core of dedicated committee members. The diversity of the people and the backgrounds that have been brought together by the common love of their Capri is simply fascination.

Teachers, small business owners, surveyors, engineers, sales and marketing executives, mechanics and painters are just a few of the occupations of members.

Owners of Capris of all vintages are welcome to join our club. We also accept enthusiasts who do not currently own a Capri as associate members.

Events and Activities

Primarily a social club, the Capri Club Of Queensland Inc. conducts monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of the month at the club headquarters, The Sunnybank Community and Sports Club - McCullough Street Sunnybank, as well as monthly club social events usually held on the third Sunday of the month.

Club events are varied and include restaurant nights, navigation runs, car rallies, go-kart racing attending motorsports, (V8 Supercars, historic racing etc) participating in and/or spectating of amateur racing, events with other car clubs, picnics, theme parties and more. There is also an annual Christmas party and club concourse.

 Benefits to You

1. The club provides you with the opportunity of mixing with a down to earth group of everyday individuals     who enjoy the relaxed friendly atmosphere provided by the type of association. You are under no pressure to commit certain time to the club, however like the members have found, it’s fun to be involved in an interest outside the norm of our daily lives, and build a new circle of friends.

2. Our monthly newsletter is distributed to all members and posted or emailed to our country and interstate members. It covers such items as reports on past events, a list of upcoming events, restoration and maintenance tips, feature on club members cars, parts for sale and sponsor contributions.

3. As a club member it is possible to obtain concessional registration by using special vehicle registration for cars over 30 years old. NB. New members who apply for concessional registration during the first year of membership will have to pay a vehicle verification fee of $75 to the club. It is a condition that to maintain concessional registration the owner is to maintain membership of a recognised car club - contact Queensland Transport for more details.

4. A club discount rate for insurance is available from Shannons, one of our sponsors.

5. There are added benefits in being able to source parts for your Capri and being able to talk to Capri “boffins” and automotive geniuses in a social setting, lots of free information with the passion of the sport and the graceful lines of our cars. Those of us who are not so mechanically minded are also made welcome and are encouraged with open arms. it’s all about having fun.
