Walnut Torte |
I remember when I was a little girl, my mother used to make walnut torte for special occasions. When the war broke out, we were taken to a concentration camp, and I never saw my mother again. After the war my older sister and I returned home. In 1949 we migrated to Israel. In Israel I married, but I couldnąt cook or bake, so my sister taught me. One day friends said they were going to come to visit us. I went to my sister to ask her to make a walnut torte, but she didn't feel well, and I had to make it myself. I was very frightened. I wrote down the recipe, went home, and made the walnut torte. It turned out all right. I have baked this torte now for many years and have perfected it. Occasion: When is this dish served? This torte is for birthdays, anniversaries, or any other special occasion. |
