Take
the Mystery out of Family History
Our aim is "to encourage and assist you in your family history
research"
About
us:
Situated at the western end of Lakes Entrance, Victoria, behind the
Tourist Information Centre, the Resource Centre has available hard copy
guides, microfiche, CD's and computer information to help you in your
family history. Most books are available to members on a fee for
borrowing basis. This makes it much easier to study at your own leisure.
We are constantly purchasing new resources as funds become available.
Our
History:
The Lakes Entrance Family History Resource Centre Inc. was founded
in 1989. Known first as the Lakes Entrance Genealogical Society then
Lakes Entrance Family History Society Inc. and more recently as the
Lakes Entrance Family History Resource Centre Inc. Our centre is open to
all age groups with resources you can research with little difficulty.
Our volunteer duty people will guide you to the many resources we hold
so that the thrill of finding that relative is your own work.
Donations of $2.00 and over are tax deductible. Business members and
sponsors may claim tax deductibility.
Our
major objective is:
"To promote the study of genealogy, local history and allied
subjects by the conduct of a library and research facility which shall
be open to the public in association with the Lakes Entrance Branch of
the East Gippsland Library Service."
Why
not come and join us? You are assured of a warm welcome in comfortable
surroundings.
