COACHING 2009/10
The Lara Swimming Club has appointed a coaching panel for this year’s swimming training. The members of this panel are:
Sean Warren (Head Coach)
Kevin Nolan (Assistant Coach - Senior Squad))
Kathy Plummer (Assistant Coach - Advanced Junior Development)
Robyn Cogan (Assistant Coach - Junior Development)
Kate Bramley (Coaching Assistant - Junior Development)
Simone Brown Coaching Assistant - Junior Development)
Rob Dorris (Co-ordinator: Learn to Swim)
Maree Veenstra, Olivia Slee, Steph Scacco, Laura Bramley and Alex Bramley (Learn to Swim Team)
This group of qualified and experienced coaches will provide the swimmers of Lara with an opportunity to further their swimming careers. The Lara Swimming Club is fortunate to have a great number of young swimmers, mixed with a dedicated senior group, who lead training by example. A number of our swimmers have been brought through our Learn to Swim Program, and information regarding this program can be found HERE.
This season we're conducting training sessions at the Handbury Centre, Geelong Grammar School during the Winter, and at the Lara Swimming Pool when we commence our summer season in November. Sessions will provide fitness, stroke correction, starts and turns, race planning, and hopefully some fun along the way! The Club has also started a gym program for swimmers who turn 13 years of age this year
We are at an exciting stage at the Lara Swimming Club - our swimmers have the ability to achieve at a high level, with dedication to attend training sessions as well as participate in local, country and state meets. This also requires swimmers to be willing to listen to the coaching panel and try to achieve their goals. We look forward to the further development of our swimmers in a friendly club atmosphere where each and every swimmer at any level can achieve.
