Lara Swimming Club members were honoured at the GDSA Presentation Evening.  Diana Nolan was conferred with a District Life Membership; Di’s hard work, dedication and commitment to swimming at club, district and state levels over many years (and on-going) was formally recognised. Eliza Kol received certificates for the five district records which she broke during a stellar 2008/9 Season that saw her compete at the Age National Championships in Sydney.  Two other Lara swimmers picked up GDSA trophies: Kyle O’Neil received the Jack Harris Memorial Cup and Chelsea Rowe was awarded the Betty Searle Trophy. The Lara Swimming Club was awarded the District’s Charity Shield for raising nearly $2500 to support the Rainbow Club; this club teaches swimming to children with disabilities. Sam Scacco and Kevin O’Neil received the 2008/9 GDSA President’s Award for services to the District.
