Lara Sporting Club - Soccer Section
Growth and Success
In its short history, Lara Sporting Club's Soccer Section has enjoyed both rapid growth and success in competition. A mens team was first entered in the WVSA Senior Division 2 competition in 2003, winning the Division 2 League Cup in both 2003 and 2004. The Under 14 Girls teams were also Runners Up in their 2004 final.
Teams
The Club welcomes new members to its growing number of teams in both junior and senior age groups. Junior age groups include under 7 white, under 7 blue, under 9, under 12, under 13 girls, under 15 white, under 15 blue, under 16 girls and under 17. One team is entered in the senior mens and senior womens competitions.
Safety and Security
The Club believes strongly in promoting the safety and security of its members. All coaches have completed Level 1 First Aid courses and WVSA coaching courses, and have also had police checks carried out.
Grounds
The Club's home ground is located at the Lara Recreational Reserve between Mill Rd and Waverley Rd, where the Lara Sporting Club is situated. We are currently in discussion with local groups and government agencies to develop a new full sized soccer pitch to accommodate the needs of the fast growing number of teams, with joint use by Lara High School and other groups.
