District 201V2 Convention
The Lions Club of Lara's Children's Charity Network 201V2 Literacy Project got up at the Lions District 201V2 Convention on the afternoon of Saturday 7 Nov 09.The Club is finally getting to the end of the procedural red tape to get this project adopted nationally. The next step is to present the project to the Mutiple District Convention in Mildura in 2010. Meanwhile, the Club visits within Lions District 201V2 will continue with continuing positive outcomes.

Margaret Clark - Author
Author and guest speaker, Margaret Clark, spoke to us on our July 09 Dinner Meeting about how she gets the children to express themselves during her workshops at the three Lara primary schools for which we are extremely grateful. Margaret explained that she would take a topic and ask the children 'what if' and give them a scenario and encourage them to use their imaginations to make a story. This is all part of the Children's Charity Network and illustrates why this project is so very important and why we must ensure that Lions take on this project Australia wide.

Lions Youth of the Year Quest
The Lions Youth of the Year Quest is a project of the Lions Clubs of Australia and Papua New Guinea. The Quest is designed to encourage student interest in leadership and the qualities required to take an active and constructive role in community. It does this by selecting an outstanding young person from candidates throughout Australia to travel overseas and act as an ambassador for Lions Clubs International Multiple Districts 201.
The Quest seeks a high level of academic, leadership, sporting, public speaking and citizenship achievement in it's potential winners. By emphasising these qualities it hopes to provide outstanding role models for the youth of Australia and an overall increase in the confidence of participants.

according to the visitors was one of the best ever staged. The Hamlyn

tribute and thanks to Lions Steve Butyn and Lawrie Plowman, for without
their dedication and efforts, both the Club's and the Zone Final events
