Lara Lions Club 'We Serve'
Toy Bank
All over the world, district Lions Opportunities for Youth chairpersons are reminding Lions clubs to apply for International President Clement F. Kusiak’s banner patch award. By December 2004, almost 200 Lions clubs had completed service projects for children or youth and had applied for the colorful 5” x 7” (1.9 cm x 2.7 cm) banner patch award. Below are some examples of outstanding youth projects.

This popular programme, organised by
Corio Primary School Principal,
Lion Don Rankin, and run for children of disadvantaged backgrounds will
again be commencing at around the 21 or 28 April 2006 for 8 weeks. The
Lions pair students with "at-risk" students to build wooden toys for
pre-school children. Volunteers are being sought to assist with this
internationally famous venture.
Toy Bank now at the Lara Secondary College
This popular programme which assists
children at risk has now been successfully transferred to the Lara
Secondary College. A 5 week programme has just been completed in
November 2006 and will now, hopefully, become a permanent fixture at
the College.
