Lara Lions Club 'We Serve'
St Laurence Park
The Lions Club of Lara works in partnerships with other community groups, one being St Laurence Park. The Club has assisted the St Laurence Residents Association with many projects over the years and always assists with the Annual Fair Programme with running the BBQ. Some of the projects undertaken include (click on images for a larger version):
Tucker Court Stage 1 2003
Courtyard Blitz to re beautify the gardens at Tucker Court as part of the 40th anniversary celebrations. Work included clearing out the old gardens, replanting and mulching; putting up a gazebo with new garden furniture, new lawns and a lamp post. An official opening was held on 11 November 2004.
Tucker Court Stage 2 2004
Lara Lions Club members assisted with
the relocation of the
Residents Games Room to Tucker Court. The old gardens were cleared with
new plants put in, paving was laid and a new BBQ purchased. The area
was shielded from the sun with a new shade sail and the grass area was
prepared for Bocce.
Working Bee at Costa House 2005
Lara Lions Club members assisted with clearing the overgrown bushes near the pond area at Costa House, landscaping the gardens and putting down large pebbles around the tree ferns.

Donation of Scooter for Evaluation Programmes
During 1999 - 2000 Lions Year, the Club donated $4,000.00 to Eric Hart Centre, St Laurence Park, which enabled St Laurence to purchase a Scooter to assist with evaluation services for residents.Picture shows from left: Colin Allen, President, Residents Association, Allan Scott, President,
