  • Lao Textiles Revisited    An exhibition celebrating the handwoven silk fabrics of Carol Cassidy, an American weaver living and working in Laos, will be presented at the Museum at Fashion Institute of Technology .
  • Hmong Textiles   The Hmong are a preliterate highland people from the mountains of Vietnam and Laos. During the Vietnam war, they were sympathetic to the American side, and, after the war, many fled to the United States. There are large concentrations of Hmong in California -- upwards of 25,000.
  • Butterflies in Hmong   These drawings of butterflies are brought to you by students in the Hmong language class at James John elementary in Portland, Oregon.
