Vietnam, Laos to Further Develop Friendly Cooperation HANOI, March 18 (xinhua) -- Vietnamese Communist Party General Secretary Le Kha Phieu on Wednesday called for further development of Vietnamese-Lao cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, health care and education. Holding talks with visiting Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Choummaly Saysone here, Le Kha Phieu said the Vietnamese people are pleased to see the unceasing consolidation and development of the Vietnamese- Lao friendship, solidarity and cooperation. The high-level military delegation of Laos, headed by Choummaly Saysone, arrived in Hanoi on Tuesday morning on an official visit to Vietnam. Le Kha Phieu said the visit was a vivid manifestation of the bilateral friendship. Choummaly Saysone briefed his host about the outcome of his delegation's talks with the Vietnamese Defense Ministry, stressing the two sides' determination to boost the exchange of experience in all areas and the cooperation in personnel training. During the talks, Le Kha Phieu and Choummaly Saysone also exchanged views on how to promote the friendship between the two peoples and the two armies and on issues of mutual concern.
