Lao's National Assembly Session Closes HANOI (Oct. 12) XINHUA - The second ordinary session of the fourth National Assembly of Laos closed last weekend, Lao official news agency KPL monitored here reported Monday. The session, opened on 29 September, has endorsed the law on agriculture, and the amended law on the National Assembly, said KPL. During the ten-day session National Assembly members studied and endorsed some important issues, including the government report on the implementation of the socio- economic development and the state budget for the 1997- 1998. The session also unanimously endorsed the 1998-1999 state budget. The government reports on foreign affairs of Laos for the 1997-1998, and the line and tasks of foreign affairs for the following year were presented to the session. KPL said the Lao government will continue the country's constant foreign policy for peace, national independence, and international cooperation, international stability building, creating the international atmosphere favorable for the national construction and soliciting aid from friendly countries and international organizations for socio-economic development.
