Exotic Tastes Are Trouble For Family - (BANNING) -- A 
Banning woman faces six months in jail and a thousand 
dollar fine because authorities found 40 squirrels in the 
family freezer... and marijuana growing in the yard. Her 
husband says he's the one responsible, and he wants to take 
her place in jail. Bounlonh Vongsikhay tells the Riverside 
Press Enterprise squirrels are a delicacy in his native 
Laos, and he did not know there is a limit of 16 squirrels 
per California family. In addition to the 40 in the 
freezer, he kept one as a pet for his granddaughters. 
Vongsikhay says the pot was used as a medicinal additive 
for tea and soup... another Laotian practice... and he did 
not know it's illegal in the U-S.
