Run 1288, 18 October 2008
Hare: E&B and Wee Lassie
Venue: Gasworks Park off Richardson St, Albert Park
Hands up all those who read the emails telling us to rug up because we'd be eating dinner in Gasworks park and it would be cold. When E&B directs, we do. E&B had a mind change at 10.26pm Tues nite, deciding that we'd eat at Cricketers Arms Hotel instead. Good for Moth as he could forget the beer. Bad for Wee Lassie as she'd made 5 square metres of Scottish tablet aka caramel fudge, 300 litres of soup, and dumpling things which she didn't like but she thought would be OK for us. She off-loaded all the tablet which was very yummy. The other stuff she'll freeze and Grewsome can have it for the next 7 weeks on the caravan trip.
Grewsome summed up the run as being well set Well, he would wouldn't he, he's stuck in a caravan with Wee Lassie for weeks and weeks. He loved that there were no hills, he loved the geraniums, daisies, agapanthas, roses but was distressed at being abandoned at the back of the pack. Change the Tshirt occasionally. Wee Lassie and E&B reccied the run 4 times. They're either setting the run-preparation bar amazingly high or they're in love. All that prep and the run got changed at 10.26pm anyway.
Codpiece was back from NZ and ripped straight into handing out lunch
time detentions to Year 10s for wearing lippy.
Sooty was overheard to say he'd been at a stop work meeting - how do
you tell?
Cooch was off on a course: "How to set a run with less than 4 reccies"
There wasn't a technical drink stop (as in the drink stop was the dinner stop) but at half time we got the 'cat with its bits stuck in the car door' noise aka bagpipes. What breath control.
