Run 1274, 9 July 2008
Hare: GG
Venue: Angel Tavern, Cnr Glenferrie Rd and Dandenong Rd, Malvern
An enthusiastic pack of about 13 runners looked a bit reluctant to venture out into the cold Melbourne night but in the end they were ushered off by stand-in GM, Pointy. On left, into the cold air we scurried leaving our valued belongings in the safe care of GG.
Early FRTs were Flem and Two Bottoms and of course the new runner (whose name I can’t remember) Let’s call him (for now) The Other Bloke. The scribe, being new to Melbourne, at no time on the run, had any clue as to where he was so no details of street names etc. would be valid. We did at one stage run along Dandenong Road.
The trail was well set and in my opinion, a truly excellent run. Some of the other runners were mumbling about f*cking boring run, not enough checks etc. (These miscreants may have been Cooch, Flem and Two Bums) I can’t really remember, I was just happy to be there. Yeah, and I think Nickleby was there too, but far be it from me to dob. Eventually there was a magnificent check back, which did catch all of these whinging FRTs and the pack was re-united when Lots Of Fun, E&B and Tiger Moth appeared.
From that point on the pack was kept together by the hare’s obvious skills, using tricky FTs and the occasional CB at every opportunity.
Walkers, It Wasn’t Me, Wee Lassie and Pointy did a separate walker’s trail and arrived back at the pub just before the main pack.
The food and drink deal at the pub was good and we managed to scare
away all the regulars, emptied the bar, in fact (I think it’s got something
to do with the Golden Shorts), before Pointy convened the circle.
Lots of Fun celebrated 280 runs. Well done
Charges came fast and furious from the floor and choir mistress, E&B, provided some great dirty ditties, just about had a different one for each charge.
Charges were as follow :-
E&B, Cooch and Pointy Publically shamed as being UNFINANCIAL
GG Leaving the bags unattended so that he could go and extract money from the hole-in-the-wall. (To pay his subs so that’s OK)
Lots of Fun Hadn’t heard of Rocky Horror Show
Nickleby Stand-in for Clingon who omitted to put GG on his daughter’s birthday party list
Flem Didn’t show any concern that his wife (and future offspring) was missing, when he arrived back from the run. She was in the other bar playing pool with some of the regulars
Cooch Some obscure trumped-up charge
Grewsome For reminding GG of the name of a US harriette at Interhash
2000. Wonderwoman is her name and GG was caught in a very compromising
position with her
