Significant Runs
Flem x 49, Modnoc x 4, (IWM x 50 last week).
The run through the best parts of Balaclave, Ripponlesa and St Kilda was really excellent; creative; thoughtful; ingeneous; amazing; inventive and challenging. Lots of dark, little alley-ways full of used syringes and other used things. Lots of scrabbling through the undergrowth below the railway. Mummies Boy apparently perked up when he spied "Glamour Puss Studios" only to have his hopes dashed because it was a dance studio. The run passed Cheesecake's grandfather's birth place house and a house that Mummies Boy's grandfather built
The public bar was full of colourful racing identities who looked like they called the Balaclava Hotel 'home', when they weren't busy at the Remand Centre, Port Phillip Prison or the local Magistrate's Court. Codpiece suggested we yell "parole officer" just to see what happened. The bar had 4 big screens with racing, trots, dogs and the sort of bold patterned carpet that's always sticky.
NickleBy was very, very comfortable in the deputy GM's role last week. Prince rushed back from Nelson NZ fearing a coup de tart. He assembled the circle and asked Mummies Boy to describe the run. Mummies had gone home already. He asked Cooch to describe the run. Cooch had gone home already. God knows who he asked to describe the run but it was awarded 24/30 - it lost 6 points for the venue. The pack was well kept together except for Lotsa who tried to do a runner in Ripponlea but NickleBY found her and brought her back.
It's very wrong to stereotype people because of the national characteristics of the nation from whence they come, but some just can't help themselves. Prince popped into his local newagency and bought/brought along his new diary AKA the Hash Book. A browse thru the diary, 2nd last page, contains a Breeding Table, above the Rain Chart and before the 2009/2010 Forward Planner. According to Prince's Breeding Table, he has to service mares on 7/12, cows 11/10, ewes 31/5, does 28/5, sows 27/4, bitches 5/3 and jennies 1/1. The moral is, if you're from NZ, check ALL of a diary before you buy it and bring it to hash.
