The exact age of the rotunda is unknown, but it is mentioned in the newspaper in 1905. It has been rebuilt or extensively renovated on at least two occasions and was fully restored around 1988. The sides were probably originally open, but this was replaced first by solid timber board and more recently by lattice-work.
