 In this comedy-based adventure game, many science fiction movies an TV series are referenced and/or parodied. They make mention of a time travelling DeLorean in a magazine that can be found in the game.  Sierra

 "TINY TOON: BUSTER BUSTS LOOSE"
 There is a scene between the game's hero Buster Bunny and villain Montana Max. They are both on a runaway train and must escape. So they both jump onto a railway cart in front of the train and pump to make the cart go faster. There's a mile per hour counter on top of the screen and shows how fast they're going. They build up speed quickly and eventually stop at a certain speed - which happens to be 88 mph! They even leave a familiar looking trail of fire.  SNES

 "VIGILANTE 8: SECOND OFFENSE"
 The car in this game looks like the DeLorean when it gets an "upgrade" and when it gets a "power up" it does teh hover conversion - its wheels fold up underneath it. There is also a green "flux capacitor" in the background of the space ship in the slide show area.  N64
