Knox Community Volunteers has offered a range of services to people living in the City of Knox since 1975 , and in recent years our services have extended into the Yarra Ranges. Knox Community Volunteers has over 900 active volunteers who provide a range of services. These include:

Transport
A team of volunteer drivers use their own cars to transport people who cannot access public transport or taxis to and from allied health, social support and planned activity groups. A small contribution is welcomed for this service, and clients are requested to give as much notice as possible if they wish to book a drive ( minimum three working days).

Social Support Activities
We conduct six Social Support groups for frail and isolated elderly residents and people with disabilities. These groups are conducted at various venues including Carrington Park in Knoxfield. Refreshments are provided and transport can be arranged if necessary. We also assist Culturally and Liguistically Diverse Groups( CALD ).

Community Visiting
Volunteers in this program are matched with a frail and isolated older person in the community for regular visits. All volunteers are interviewed and undergo police record checks before being assigned to a person to visit.

Community Access Program
Our Community Access Worker is available to integrate frail and isolated people into community groups, and social activities. The program is aimed at people who are having difficulty accessing social support networks alone, due to isolation, disability or frailty. We have one on one assisted shopping, morning melodies to various venues and a men’s lunch on the first Monday of each month.

Community Shopping
We now operate a Community Shopping Bus to Knox City and Stud Park Shopping Centre on a weekly basis, with a door to door service from a client’s home. Walkers and Wheelchairs can be taken.

Pet Companion Program
