A planning permit for retail development next to one of Kilmore's historic buildings has stimulated town conversation about what is important - preserving history or reviving town business?

The Kilmore Racing Club have been awarded $8,000 through the PROV local History grants program for a project to publish a 150 year history of the Kilmore Racing Club. The book will focus on the major achievements of both thoroughbred and harness movements and the Club's importance in the local community. Photos, memorabilia and historical notes welcome. The National Archives of Australia have recently received 500 digital images of Australian World War 1 servicemen received from the Department of Veterans's Affairs. Among those received were Charles Edward HOBSON who was born in Kilmore and enlisted in Melbourne and W. Mcleod PROUDFOOT who was also born in Kilmore and enlisted in Kilmore.
