Kilmore is Victoria's oldest inland settled town. It is situated 60 kilometres north of Melbourne and nestled in the Great Dividing Range on the Northern Highway, which was once also the road to the goldfields. Being just one day's horse ride from Melbourne it was the first overnight stop on the journey north.
Kilmore was in the former Shire of Kilmore, now incorporated into the Shire of Mitchell. Our local areas of interest extend to Kilmore, Beveridge, Bylands, Clonbinane, Darraweit Guim, Wallan, Wandong, Willomavin and Pyalong.
