"The Lad" Returns To Launch Junior Season
THE Kangaroo Flat CC's favourite son Tim 'The Lad' Welsford will return to his old stomping ground on Friday, September 6 to host a clinic for the club's up-and-coming junior players.
The clinic/junior registration night will be held in the Kangaroo Flat Secondary College gym at 5pm. Tim, 20, played cricket for KFCC from Under 12s right through to A Grade before moving to Melbourne where he plays for the Northcote Dragons and is a member of the Victorian Bushrangers squad.
Tim will host the clinic alongside former Australian test cricketer Ashley Woodcock, KFCC junior co-ordinator Simon Dundas and a number of the club's other senior cricketers.
Simon said the event was open, free-of-charge, to all players aiming to play in the Under 11, 13, 15 or 17 teams in 2002/3.
The event is being billed as a family affair.
All aspiring junior cricketers, their brothers, sisters and parents are invited to come along and get some cricketing tips and autographs while signing up for the new season. Otherwise, contact Simon (5449 6486).
