Junior Training Underway
THE Kangaroo Flat Cricket Club's favourite son Tim Welsford returned to the club on September 6. Only ten years ago, Tim was an eager member of the KFCC junior ranks.

In the past decade he has risen from Kangaroo Flat's under-12s through to A grade level and is now on the verge of senior state selection. A 20-year-old all-rounder, Tim holds a rookie contract with the Victorian Bushrangers and is a key player with premier team Northcote Dragons. But he has never forgotten where it all started. Tim journeyed back to Kangaroo Flat on the 6th to take the club's newest crop of talented juniors through their paces. |

With former Australian test cricketer Ashley Woodcock, now a lecturer at La Trobe University Bendigo, Tim and a number of Kangaroo Flat's senior players hosted a superclinic to launch the season for the club's junior teams. Kangaroo Flat will boast under-11, 13, 15 and 17 teams in season 2002/3. Training is about to kick off for all these teams, with the under-17s all ready up-and-away under the astute guidance of John Bonnice. |
