Exciting New Start To Season
THE Kangaroo Flat Cricket Club will kickstart pre-season training for the 2002/03 season this month.
The first training session will be held at the Bendigo Bat n Ball indoor sports centre, in Collins Street Kangaroo Flat, at midday on Sunday, August 18.
Newly-appointed KFCC senior coach Rodd Baker invited all aspiring senior cricketers to attend the session. "We'll train for two hours every Sunday for the first four weeks, and make a decision about further arrangements after that,'' Baker said.
"We're hoping to have a big season, so we'd like to have as many old and new faces there as possible.
It would be great to see some of the older junior cricketers show up as well.'' Among those players eager for pre-season training to start is wicket-keeper/batsman Andrew Hosking.
The 27-year-old will return to the club after a three-season hiatus. Hosko maintained his close links with the Roos throughout his time away, which included a two-year stint at Victorian Premier Cricket team Northcote.
The former BDCA country week repres-entative played alongside Victorian players Darren Berry, Michael Lewis and fellow Kangaroo Flat stars Tim and Chris Welsford while with the Dragons.
