Squads
 

 

The basic criteria for each squad are outlined below;
Superfish
Specifically designed for young swimmers making the transition from swimming lessons. Swimmers attend one 45-minute session per week at the indoor heated pool at Strathcona.
Junior Development
Attend on average 1 training session at the start of the season, building to 3-4 sessions per week. Criteria: Commitment to training for required number of sessions and attendance at nominated swim meets.
State Development
Attend on average 2 training sessions at the start of the season, building to 4-5 sessions per week. Criteria: Commitment to training for required number of sessions (extra distance compared with Junior Development) and attendance at nominated swim meets.
State
Attend on average 2 training sessions at the start of the season, building to 5 sessions per week. Criteria: State qualifying times or training commitment that meets these times.
National
Attend on average 4 training sessions at the start of the season, building to 7-8 sessions per week. Criteria: State finalist or medallist, or training commitment that meets these times.
  Swimmers progress into the next squad when they achieve these goals. Before moving a swimmer to the next squad the coaches will also take into account the swimmer's ambitions, performance at training and potential. Age is not a primary criteria for squads.
