Allocation of Points and Percentages
15. ALLOCATION OF POINTS AND PERCENTAGES
(a) The winning team from each match shall be awarded two (2) points. In the event of a tie, each team shall be awarded one (1) point. Each team shall also be awarded one (1) point for each set won.
(b) If a decision is reached in an unfinished match the winner shall be awarded two (2) points. Each team shall be awarded one (1) point for each set won and half of the available points for the unfinished sets. The score as at the end of the match shall be used for the calculation of the relevant percentages.
(c) If a decision is not reached in an unfinished match each team shall be awarded one (1) point plus one (1) point for each set won and half of the available points for the unfinished sets. The score at the end of the match shall be used for the calculation of the relevant percentages.
(d) In calculating percentages, a team winning a match by forfeit shall be deemed to have won 24/0 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & 18/0 Thursday. A team losing a match by forfeit shall incur the penalty of being deemed to have lost all sets of the relevant match to love and fined in accordance with Bylaw 19(b).
(e) If a team is moved from one section to another by the Executive, treatment of points won by the team in their original section shall be determined by the Executive.
(f) If a team enters the competition after the start of the season to take up a bye, they will be granted 2 points for each scheduled match prior to their entry.
(g) Percentages shall be calculated as the total number of games won divided by the total number of games lost and multiplied by 100.
(h) Byes: each team will be awarded half points for a match.
