Greek Performing Arts Scholarship.
'Greek Performing Arts Scholarship' is an initiative to fund a scholarship to place aspiring individuals in proforming arts studies, with a specialty in 'Greek performance'. This may be Theatrical, Musical or Dance. This is to create a self sustaining Greek Cultural scene in Australia, for future generations to enjoy, by the professional training of individuals in the 'Greek Performing Arts' field. The Scholarship is a first step in the cultural maturity of the Greek arts in Australia.

Description of Project:
- To establish a scholarship, for performing artists, particularly in greek dance,to attend the Victorian College of the Arts - Dance (Melbourne University college).
- To establish a cultural exchange program, for dance students,to the International Dance Centre at Kalamata.
- To promote community appreciation of proffensional art and dance study.
- To maintain Greek performing atrs heritage into the future generations, through the existence of trained proffessional performing artists.
Sponcers / Funding:
- Initial endowment, through a weekly dance event.
- Coporate sponcership, through promotion at weekly event.
- Patronage by Art donors.
People Responsible:
Project Administrator
Fund Trustees ( made of special people; patrons, sponcers and gov appointees )
Scholarship awarders ( made up of experienced artists )
Target Audience:
- People who speak English and/or Greek.
- Young people aspiring to study proffesional performing arts, and want to learn about greek performing art culture.
- Dancers in greek performing groups, wishing to became proffesionals, and study dance.
- Community members who wish to support the maintance of greek performing arts culture.
Functions of project:
- To establish a weekly night to raise money for project ( ie 'Konfusio' )
- To seek other Sponsors, in coordination with other people/organisations.
- To promote the scholarship, and funding events, through all media.
- To place 3 students per year in the scholarship program, and fund them through their course.
- To have the students hold performance training for young intrested children and adults.
Outline of project development:
- Establish a weekly dance and other events, to raise money ( ie. Konfusio ).
- Recruit project patners, that can assist in reaching objectives.
- Open a high Intrest paying account, for fund.
- Consult with Greek Goverment. ie consul, IDC at Kalamata.
- Appoint Trustees.
- Seek further finacial supporters.
- Establish an agreement with Performing art Education Institute in Victoria.
- Establish an agreement with Performing art Education Institute in Greece.
- Apply for funding for Scholarship administration.
- Appoint Scholarship awarders.
- Release scholarship details and applications.
- Continue raising money for scholorship fund.
- Promote scholarship at secondary level, and in ameture dance community.
- Award, every year, (a three year) scholarship to two English/Greek speaking applicat, and one to a general applicant, willing to study dance, specialising in greek performing art culture and greek performing art development.
