The Victoria/Tasmania chapter of the Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme Alumni Association (JETAA Vic/Tas) is a non-profit organization consisting of former JET Programme participants and supported by the Japanese Consulate in Melbourne. Founded in 1992, our alumni association has grown from its humble beginnings of only a few members to today's thriving membership of over 260.

Our objectives are numerous, centred around assisting new JET Programme participants to survive Japan, and helping to make the transition back into Australian society (reverse culture shock) easier for those returning from the Programme. In addition, we seek to promote the knowledge and understanding of Japan, its people, and its culture in Australia, and conversely, of Australia in Japan.

The JETAA newsletter is published four times a year and contains articles, event listings, and general interest information. Any ideas for stories etc are most welcome and should be directed to our newsletter editor. If you would like to know more about the JET Program, JETAA, or if you think that JETAA can help you in some way, please do not hesitate to contact us.
