Playgroup

What is a playgroup?

A playgroup brings together parents and children and gives them an opportunity to interact socially. Playgroups can assist young children to develop their social skills by playing with other children and interacting with other adults apart from their parents. This can help make the transition to kindergarten easier. Playgroups can also be of benefit to parents, as they can get to meet other parents in their local neighbourhood and observe their children's behaviour in the company of other children and adults.

How old does a child have to be to join a playgroup?

Playgroups are for parents with children aged from birth to kindergarten age.
