Japara Calisthenics has been operating since 1991 and is registered with Calisthenics Victoria Inc.
Calisthenics is unique to Australia and we can be justly proud of this fascinating hybrid which combines the finest points of sport and art. As a sport, it encourages physical development and co-ordination, self-discipline and team spirit. As an art, it develops an appreciation of music and rhythm, the beauty of line and composition and the excitement of stage presentation.

Australian Calisthenics is an amalgamation of physical culture, marching, simplified ballet, gymnastic exercises, folk dance and modern dance. All are set to music and choreographed and designed to develop strength, grace and poise in students.

We offer three classes for three age groups. Classes are held at Montrose Public Hall on Tuesdays.

* CVI Registration and Insurance Fees of $45.00 per pupil are also applicable. These fees need to be paid at the start of term one or at commencement.
