The Great Ocean Road

The real "windy bit" starts at Lorne and moves through to Apollo Bay. That's full of hairpin bends

and rising and sweeping roads that take you along the edge of a cliff on one side and the ocean on the other. It takes about an hour or so to complete the run (depending on your car) and the cafe or pub (for soft drink only of course!) is a welcome sight when you reach the end. Just time for a quick coffee and then you've got to just get back in your car and do it all again.

'll try and get some pics of the road next time I do it - I've done it in my car a few times and one my bike once - the bike ride is hairiest one of the lot. Just make sure you've got good tyres.
