BOOK NARRATORS WANTED

Volunteer Book Narrators wanted: Vision Australia are seeking articulate, avid readers with superior powers of concentration to narrate a range of books for their library service, which turns print into sound for people who are blind or have low vision.
Having a background in theatre or radio would be an advantage, but not essential. But it's vital that volunteers are able to record during business hours at Vision Australia Kooyong, Melbourne.

VALE: RON CONROY
The Heidelberg Theatre Company express their sadness at the passing of Ron, who died on Saturday June 20 after a short illness. Ron last directed with us in 2003 with Bermuda Avenue Triangle. Ron's directorial credits also included "Lipstick Dreams" for Jacaranda, "Frankie & Johnny in the Clair de Lune" for Trak, "Dirty Work at the Crossroads" for Encore, "My Son the Lawyer is Drowning" for Elwood, "All My Sons", "The Fantasticks", "Rumours" and "Angle on My Shoulder" for Malvern, and "Jigsaws" and "Goodbye Charlie" for Peridot. We send our condolences to Monica and the Conroy family at this time of loss.

vale CHARLES "BUD" TINGWELL

Bud Tingwell was a legend in Australian cinema - as our PM rightly observed on hearing the news. We at HTC salute him for his wonderful support and contribution to amateur theatre in Victoria - at the time of his death he was patron of the Victorian Drama League, as he has been for many years. He will be sorely missed, and all of us here at Heidelberg Theatre Company send heartfelt condolences to his daughter Virginia and son Christopher and all his family and friends.

THE DINNER GAME

Our first production of the year - the zany comedy, The Dinner Game, was a hit with our patrons, perhaps savouring the chance to escape the troubling events of our times for a while and have a good ol' belly laugh. Thanks to director Joan Moriarty and her hard working cast and crew for such a good standard production.
