The Club

The Hornets was one of the original founding clubs for the sport in Victoria. Further details can be found in a brief club history below.

The day to day business of running such a large club is handled by the committee. Organisation of the teams at games is delagated to team managers and game coaches. The committee is always on the lookout for people willing to help in any way.

Coaching of the training is done by two club coachs with the help of some assistants (often older players). Game coaches are encouraged to take part at training so as to be able to both give feedback to the coaches at training and to be able to better apply what is learnt at training to the games.

Despite the many hours of voluntary work done, the coaches and rinks on which the game is played have to be paid. Accordingly, training and game fees are payable in advance each season. (Payment in installments can be arranged if required.) In addition to those there are also league fees (payable to VILHA to cover insurance and other matters) and a club membership fee. Of course, there is also the not insignificant cost of the required playing gear, which includes the club uniform.
